His Reverend Robert Walking Skating on Duddingston Loch is one of Scotland's most famous and best loved paintings. Sir Henry Raeburn (1756-1823) was Scotland's first significant portrait artist. Six Butterflies and a Moth on a Rose Branch departs from his normal subject matter, but is most pleasing.
